The main focus at a birthday party is the Cake. You can use it as the center piece on your table or you can bring it into the room with much pomp and ceremony. Bake a cake in a loaf pan, using your favorite recepie. Ice the cake as is or be a bit more fancy by cutting a small piece off the bottom and shape it to form the stroke at the top of the one. A butterfly cake is lovely for a little girl and very easy for mom to bake herself. Bake either a round or square cake. Cut the round cake in half and place the two pieces on a board or tray with the rounded sides touching and the cut sides on the outside )( . Cut the square cake diagonally to form 2 triangles. You will need three cakes . 1 round cake for arms, legs and nose. 1 cake baked in a large pudding bowl for the fat round tummy. 1 in a small pudding bowl for the head. When baked, place the two pudding bowl cakes in the right positions for the tummy and head. Take the round cake and cut two rectangles from the center for the legs. Use the remaining curved edges to form the arms. Take cutoffs and place on the teddy’s head to form a mound for his nose. Frost the whole cake in a color of your choice. Use sweets for the eyes and nose. Shoe-string licorice works well for the mouth. Tie a ribbon into a bow for teddy’s neck. Let Teddy hold the candle by placing it on his hand. Very Cute!! Bake a cake in a large pudding bowl. Turn the cake out. Cut small pieces out the cake to form a pointed nose. Frost in red for the ladybug and brown for the hedgehog.
